Sennelier’s Extra-Fine high-quality Solid Oil Sticks are handmade in France, and bring the rich vibrancy of oil paint directly into your hands, offering a tactile and expressive way to work with oil colour. Made from pure pigments that are bound with safflower oils and refined mineral wax, these oil sticks deliver smooth, creamy application with excellent adhesive bonding, a uniform finish, and long-lasting archival quality.
They are ideal for use on primed canvas, wood panels or fine art paper, and can be applied alone or alongside traditional tube oils. These oil sticks allow for a variety of techniques including direct drawing; blending with brushes, fingers, or stumps; wash effects with turpentine; retouching; texturing; and sgraffito for revealing underlying layers. With Sennelier’s expertise in oils and pastels, these solid oil sticks combine the freedom of drawing with the depth and richness of traditional oil painting.
Colours are available in both opaque and transparent options, and a colourless Oil Stick Medium can be used for glazes or transparent effects.
The Mini Oil Stick is 12 ml, while the medium Oil Stick is 38 ml.
