Linseed Oil is the most traditional medium for oil painting. It enhances the flow of paint and adds a glossy finish. It dries relatively slowly, allowing for longer working times.

Linseed oil is also used to protect and maintain interior and exterior woods, concrete and is one of the main ingredients in many paints and varnishes. It is a natural oil, so not as bad for the environment as many other solvent based finishes – and has a variety of other uses from furniture finish to treating wooden floors.
