New In! Baohong Watercolour Paper

artstuff — Tue, 03 Jun 2025 08:30:09 +0000

Baohong Masters Watercolour Paper was developed by renowned Australian watercolour artists Ross Patterson and David Taylor in conjunction with a small family run paper mill in North West China who have a long tradition of traditional paper making. Many years of development has lead to the creation of this exceptional paper.

Manufactured using 100% cotton chosen for its strength, absorbency, and longevity.
Traditional manufacturing methods are combined with modern technology to ensure consistent quality and evenness.
A meticulous sizing process, both internal and external, is followed using traditional gelatin which is crucial for controlling watercolour flow and to prevent buckling.
This meticulous manufacturing process has created a paper that offers exceptional performance.
The paper accepts multiple washes without buckling or piling to allow for seamless blending and lifting techniques.
The exceptional wet strength allows artists to work with multiple layers of wet media and the paper can withstand demanding techniques like scrubbing and lifting.
Exceptional longevity due to the paper being acid free and pH neutral.
Suitable for a wide range of watercolour techniques, from delicate washes to bold impasto.
The competitive price makes this high-quality watercolour paper accessible to a far broader audience.
A range of surface textures are available to cater for differing painting styles, from the smooth hot press surface to a more textured cold press and rough surface for expressive washes.
