It is milky when wet and clear when dry, making it perfect for layering. It is archival and not likely to crack, disintegrate or change colour, making it a safe glue option for art work.
Gel mediums are also ideal for extending a heavy body paint, to create impasto, relief, or sculptural effects.
Gel medium is a thick acrylic polymer. You can use acrylic medium to seal the surface you are going to paint on if you want it to be clear.
